The Curriculum
What Students Build Mastery In
Logic & Computational Thinking
Students learn to break problems into steps, write conditions, and reason through systems — using Scratch and MakeCode block editors before moving to text-based code.
Sensors & Signals
Reading light, temperature, and motion with micro:bit and Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino — and responding to it in code.
Robotics & Motion
Servos, motors, and movement with VEX and Lego systems — turning code into physical action.
AI Prompt Literacy
Students work with Sam AI to learn prompt engineering — communicating with AI, not just using it.
3D Design & Fabrication
From digital model to physical object — students design in 3D and bring it to life on a printer.
IoT & Connectivity
Connecting hardware to the internet with sensors, Bluetooth, and WiFi — students build devices that send data, trigger remote actions, and talk to the world.

Progression System
A Badge Journey
That Means Something
Every lesson advances students toward a recognized STEM credential. The badge system is a structured mastery framework aligned to real engineering concepts — not a sticker chart.
First steps — core concepts and STEM vocabulary
Hands-on discovery across multiple subject areas
Applied projects — build, test, and iterate real systems
Full mastery — lead, teach, and showcase original work
Our Story
Why Synapse Built This
Synapse has been doing hands-on STEM in Orlando since 2016 — circuits, microcontrollers, 3D design, real code, real hardware. Over 2,500 students later, one thing hasn't changed: parents want to continue that level of learning at home, and nothing out there was built to do it.
So we built it ourselves. The Synapse Platform brings everything we've learned in the lab — structured, progressive, grade-appropriate STEM learning across coding, IoT, 3D design, and microcontrollers — directly to families nationwide. Powered by AI, shipped as a physical kit, designed for kids who are ready to build real things.
