Subscription Terms & End User License Agreement

1. Subscription Overview

Synapse STEM Education offers two age-appropriate subscription tracks: Little Techs (ages 5–10, micro:bit hardware) and DigiKids (ages 10–15, Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino). Each subscription is per child and includes a hardware starter kit shipped to your door.

2. Pricing & Billing

• Each subscription covers one child. Families enrolling multiple children must purchase a separate subscription for each child.
• The kit price of $179 is the same for both tracks and includes the hardware starter kit plus the first month of your subscription.
• Beginning with month 2, your card on file will be charged $29.99 per child per month on the same calendar day as your original purchase.
• All prices are in US dollars. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

3. Child Account Setup

• Each DLK starter kit includes a unique child login code printed inside the box.
• A parent or authorized guardian must complete the initial account-linking process through the Synapse DLK mobile app to associate the child's account with the parent account.
• Parents and observers access progress and lesson data through the parent dashboard. Children access lessons through the DLK Portal using their individual login code.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and your child's login code.

4. Cancellation Policy

• You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at support@synapsestemed.com or through your account dashboard.
• Cancellation must be submitted at least 10 days before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the upcoming month.
• Cancellations submitted fewer than 10 days before the billing date will take effect at the end of the following billing cycle.
• Upon cancellation, access to lessons, Sam AI, and the DLK Portal will continue through the end of the current paid period. No partial-month refunds are issued unless required by law.
• Hardware starter kits are non-returnable after the kit has been opened and the child login code has been activated.

5. 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason within the first 30 days of your order date, contact us and we will work with you to make it right — including a full kit refund if the hardware is returned in unused, unopened condition. The 30-day guarantee does not apply to partially used kits or activated login codes.

6. Shipping

• Starter kits are shipped within 2–3 business days of purchase to the address provided at checkout.
• Synapse STEM Education ships within the contiguous United States. Contact us for international inquiries.
• Shipping costs, if any, are displayed at checkout before payment is collected.

7. Payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your full payment card number is never stored on Synapse STEM Education servers. By providing your payment information you authorize recurring monthly charges in accordance with Section 2 above until you cancel.

17. Discounts

Founding Family Discount

The first 25 families to subscribe ("Founding Families") receive a permanent 10% discount on their monthly DLK subscription for as long as their subscription remains active. The discount is automatically applied in the cart when founding spots are available.

• The founding discount applies to the recurring monthly subscription charge only.
• The discount is non-transferable and tied to the original family account.
• If a founding-family subscription lapses or is cancelled and later reactivated, the founding discount is forfeited and standard pricing applies.
• Once all 25 founding spots are claimed, no new Founding Family discounts will be issued.

Military Family Discount

Families of active duty U.S. military personnel receive a 10% discount on their monthly DLK subscription.

• Eligibility is limited to active duty service members. Reserve, National Guard, veteran, and retired status do not qualify at this time.
• Proof of active duty status (e.g., a valid military ID or official orders) must be submitted during account setup via the mobile app or by emailing support@synapsestemed.com.
• The discount will be applied to the account once verification is confirmed, typically within 2 business days.
• If military status changes, the account holder is responsible for notifying Synapse STEM Education. Continued use of the discount without valid eligibility may result in account suspension.

General Discount Terms

• Discounts cannot be combined. Only one discount type may apply per subscription.
• Discounts apply to the monthly subscription fee only; the one-time kit price is not discounted.
• Synapse STEM Education reserves the right to modify or discontinue discount programs at any time with 30 days' written notice to affected subscribers.

18. Founding Family Status

Founding Family status confers the following benefits in addition to the pricing discount described in Section 17:

• Priority access — early access to new tracks, hardware kits, and platform features before general availability.
• Exclusive Founders Badge — a permanent Founders Badge displayed on the child's DLK profile.
• Priority support queue — support requests from Founding Families are handled with priority response times.

Founding Family benefits are tied to the original subscribing family account and are not transferable. Benefits continue for the duration of an active subscription.
